Sludge dewatering projects, case by case

Nine municipal sludge dewatering installations, described as the projects were documented — the moisture levels before and after dewatering, the daily sludge volume where it was recorded, and the equipment installed at each site.

The project handles about 300 tonnes per day of municipal sludge at roughly 80% moisture, and is equipped with 6 CXCG-2000 ultra-high-pressure belt dewatering presses plus a low-temperature drying train. The ultra-high-pressure belt presses first bring the moisture down to 65%; the low-temperature drying equipment then takes it below 40%, and the sludge is sent to a power plant for incineration.

The project uses 1 CXNG1500 integrated deep sludge dewatering unit. The equipment has a small footprint and is simple to operate, and it takes sludge at 98% moisture directly down to below 60%. The sludge is then transported to a sludge disposal center for treatment.

The project uses a screw press dewatering machine to take 98% moisture down to about 83%, then 1 CXCG1500 ultra-high-pressure belt dewatering press and 1 sludge drying system to take the moisture below 40%, followed by incineration.

The project handles about 90 tonnes per day of municipal sludge at roughly 80% moisture. 2 standard belt filter presses take the moisture from 98% down to 83%; 2 CXCG-1000 ultra-high-pressure belt sludge dewatering presses then take it to 65%; and low-temperature drying equipment finally takes it below 40%. The sludge is sent to a power plant for incineration.

The project previously ran 2 standard belt filter presses and produced about 60 tonnes per day of sludge at roughly 83% moisture. 1 CXCG-1500 ultra-high-pressure belt dewatering press was installed to dewater that 83% sludge to below 60%, and the sludge is hauled away for disposal.

The project uses 1 CXYG2000 integrated deep sludge dewatering unit. The equipment has a small footprint and is simple to operate, and it takes sludge at 98% moisture directly down to below 70%. The sludge is then transported to a sludge disposal center for treatment.

The front end of the project uses a screw press dewatering machine and produces about 50 tonnes per day of sludge at 85% moisture. 2 CXCG-Y1500 ultra-high-pressure belt dewatering presses are fitted, and the moisture content of the treated sludge drops below 60%.

  • Rizhao Water Group sludge composting project — dewatering equipment on site

The project handles about 200 tonnes per day of municipal sludge at roughly 80% moisture. The sludge at 80% moisture was originally mixed with bulking agent and sent straight to composting and fermentation, which took a large dose of bulking agent and cost a lot. 2 CXCG-2000 ultra-high-pressure belt dewatering presses are now fitted, and the sludge is dewatered to 65% before fermentation.

  • Zaozhuang WWTP (Shandong) — dewatering equipment on site

The project uses 1 CXBC-1550 automatic thin-layer high-dryness filter press. The equipment has a small footprint and is simple to operate, and it takes sludge at 98% moisture directly down to below 50%.
