Sedimentation and clarification.

Settled solids separated from water — inclined tube and plate settlers for compact clarification, and peripheral-drive scrapers for large circular tanks.

How sedimentation works

Sedimentation separates solids from water under gravity. A clarifier gives the floc a still volume in which to settle; the clarified water leaves from the top and the settled sludge is collected at the bottom. Two families cover the usual duties. Inclined tube and plate settlers add settling area inside the tank, so the same clarification is reached in a smaller footprint, and the sludge slides down the plates into a hopper. Peripheral-drive scrapers travel around large circular tanks and drive the settled sludge to the centre outlet, with the clarified water drawn off at the rim.

CXKG inclined tube/plate settler

A lamella clarifier is a high-efficiency water treatment unit designed for removing particulates from liquids. Equipped with many inclined plates or tubes, the settling tank provides a large effective settling area for sludge, sand and other matter to slide down. Under gravity, the particulates and sand are collected in the hopper and released.

CXZB peripheral-drive sludge scraper

The peripheral-drive sludge scraper is mainly composed of the bridge, the cut-off walls, the transmission system, the water tank, the sludge collection tank, the sludge discharge device and the electrical device. Water to be treated enters the tank through central pipes and then flows to the sedimentation basin; clean water at the upper layer is discharged directly, while sludge at the bottom is pumped to the collection tank and finally discharged. The bridge is built as a truss, the components that contact the water are made in stainless steel, and the scraper bridge can be customised on request.

Applications

Municipal and industrial clarification

Clarifying municipal and industrial water in a settling tank, with the clean upper layer discharged and the settled sludge collected at the bottom.

Electroplating wastewater

Removing particulates from electroplating wastewater with inclined plate or tube packs.

Mining

Settling sand and other particulates from mining water.

Dyeing and printing wastewater

Clarifying dyeing and printing wastewater.

Tanning and food processing wastewater

Clarifying tanning and food processing wastewater.

Chemical engineering

Clarifying process water and wastewater in chemical plants.

Large circular tanks

Peripheral-drive scrapers travel around circular sedimentation basins, driving settled sludge to the centre outlet.
