What sludge dewatering does
Sludge dewatering takes the liquid sludge produced by a treatment train and removes water until the solids form a cake that can be transported and disposed of. Three families cover the usual duties. A screw press dewaters continuously at low speed, with the whole duty factory-mounted on one skid. A belt filter press passes the sludge through gravity drainage and then a series of pressure zones, which suits larger volumes. A plate-and-frame press forms a filter cake in closed chambers under pressure, which is chosen when a high dry-solids content is the objective. The right choice follows the sludge type, the feed solids concentration and the target cake, and is fixed during sizing.
CXDL screw press dewatering machine
The screw press can be provided with all the equipment required for dewatering included and factory mounted, piped and wired on a single stainless steel skid: the sludge pump, the wash water pump, the polymer dosing system and the control panel. The system features fully automated one-push-button startup and shutdown; once started up, it can run unattended and can be set to shut down automatically with no operator intervention. Sludge is thickened and dewatered continuously at low speed, which keeps noise down and suits a duty that runs for most of the day.

CXSW belt filter press
The belt filter press consists of four stages: pre-processing, gravity dewatering, wedge-shaped dewatering and press dewatering. Sludge is spread onto a moving belt so that free water drains away under gravity, is compressed in a wedge-shaped zone, and then passes between rollers under increasing pressure that squeezes the remaining water out of the cake.
CXBK chamber filter press
The plate-and-frame filter press is mainly composed of filter plates, filter cloths, rails, a liquid tank and a pressing device. The filter cloth spreads over the surface of each plate and is supported by the drainage grooves; when the plates are clamped, the cloth turns into the sealing material and the cavity between every two plates forms a separate filter chamber. During filtration the material enters the chambers through the central opening and the filtrate is driven out by the feed pressure, flowing out of the plate once it has collected.
